The vineyard
of Château Vent d'Autan, located in the middle of the "Quercy Blanc"
in Southwest of France has been completely reshaped by Anne Godin
and her son in 1987. In order to keep only the best grapes, at Château
Vent d'Autan, the selection of the grapes is done right from the start,
on the vine itself. As a result, the cot, merlot, tannat and cabernet
franc vines used on the vineyard only produce high quality vintages.
Its "terroir" or type of soil, which gives the wine its uniqueness,
is composed of chalky rubble coated with clay.Located on a hilly landscape
on the causse, 300 meters above sea level, it produces very specific
red wines.
You will
be amazed by the strength, and the fruit aroma of Château Vent d'Autan's
production, the unmistakable Cahors taste and the mouth watering savour
of its Quercy origin. The whole property is organically farmed.
This is undoubtedly the method for the future as it preserves the
soil, respects bio-diversity and life, and produces quality foods.
The Demeter
mark (which is international) is only given after an inspection of
the producers purchase order books. Château Vent d'Autan is
the only Cahors wine produced with the right to use this mark.
